Are you prepared for an emergency disaster? How about water and food shortages? I have a tee shirt that says, “He who dies with the most Toys still dies.” You can’t eat your cars, homes, clothes or money. They won’t sustain you if there is an emergency, disaster or pandemic.

Let me tell you of the boiling frog story.
The boiling frog story is a widespread anecdote describing a frog slowly being boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is placed in boiling water, it will jump out, but if it is placed in cold water that is slowly heated, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. The story is used often as a metaphor for the inability of people to react to significant changes that occurs gradually. Some 19th century researchers experimented and found that the underlying premise is true, provided t;he heating is gradual enough. Some have called it the creeping normalcy, death by a thousand cuts or Ostrich with its head in the sand. The metaphor above has been used as a way of explaining the Sorites paradox.

We have our eyes wide shut. We better start paying attention to whats going on in the European arena. Believe it or not it will affect us.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes 2012 will be worse then 2011. She stated that “will no doubt be more difficult than 2011″. Ms. Merkel has been the most optimistic about the global economy in the past but now admits the truth.

The EU economy is almost as large as China and the US combined. The EU banking system makes the US banking system look like midgets.

Citigroup’s chief equity strategist, Tobias Levkovich stated recently… “Europe is likely to have a meaningful recession in 2012.

Christin Lagarde, head of the IMF said conditions could be “reminiscent of the 1930s depression.” She further stated no one on Earth “will be immune to the crisis”.

Paul Krugman of the New York Times… “At this point I’d guess soaring rates on Italian debt leading to a gigantic bank run, both because of solvency fears about Italian banks given a default and because of fear that Italy will end up leaving the euro. This then leads to emergency bank closing, and once that happens, a decision to drop the euro and install the new lira. Next stop, France.”

Willem Bulter, chief economist at Citigroup… “Time is running out fast. I think we have maybe a few months– it could be weeks, it could be days–before there is a material risk of a fundamentally unnecessary default by a country like Spain or Italy which would be a financial catastrophe dragging the European banking system and North America with it.”

Greece debt will soon be 200% of GDP unless something is done. The nation has lost 100,000 businesses and one third of the population lives in poverty.

. Unemployment for those under 24 is 39%
. Suicides are up 40% last year
. Thefts and burglaries nearly doubled between 2007 and 2009

US dollar lost 95% of its value since the Federal Reserve was created. The national debt is 5000 times larger than it was when the Federal Reserve was created.

Survival Shop Reports Jump In Sales To People Preparing For “Possible Collapse”

A chain of three stores that sells survival food and gear reports a jump in sales to people who are getting prepared for the “possible collapse” of society.

“We had to order fifty cases of the meals ready to eat to keep up with the demand in the past three months,” said manager Steve Dorsey at Uncle Sam’s Safari Outfitters Inc. in Webster Groves. “That’s not normal. Usually we sell 20 to 30 cases in a whole year.”

Dorsey says business has been brisk since the spring uprisings in the middle east, as customers share concerns about political uprisings, the world economy and the future of the United States.

“I’ve had people in here that are very wealthy and they’ve spent thousands of dollars just on backpacks that they fill with survival gear, one for each person of their family,” Dorsey said, “And something where they can just grab a bag and get out of Dodge.”

Dorsey says some customers talk of stocking up on freeze-dried meals for the home, while others confide they are stashing supplies at a remote location away from the city where they would go in an emergency.

“There are people that have property and they’ve set up different things they’re building to protect themselves like towers they can stand up and watch,” Dorsey said, “There’s a lot of people I’m dealing with who buy all kinds of stuff because they have like twenty or thirty people going in on this together and they’re all going to go to this one spot if something like this happens.”

Uncle Sam’s Safari Outfitters in Webster does not sell guns, but Dorsey also reports many customers who do not own a gun are asking where they could go to buy one.

“I think people are scared. They don’t know where this country is going. They think we’re on a downward spiral with just dramatic,crazy spending. People just don’t know what’s going to happen,” Dorsey said.

Outside Uncle Sam’s, it appears civilization is intact. A red, white and blue Pepsi truck pulls up to supply beverages for a nearby grocery store. Motorists are having their cars washed at the General Grant car wash across the street. And the brass pendulums are swinging back and forth in the clocks on the wall at Helen’s Clock Repair.

Dorsey himself admits that he does not have a personal supply of meals ready to eat stashed in his basement. “We live just two minutes from the store,” he said, “If something happens, I can drive right over here.”

I like to tell stories in my blog because I am trying to paint a picture. Well here I go again.
In the Good book there is a story of troubling times. Pestilence, plagues and mayhem was everywhere. There was no food to be had and the average citizens was starving.

Two mothers, worried about how they where going to feed their respective families. They devised a plan. Today we will eat your baby and tomorrow we will eat mine. How would you like to be in that situation?

That evening with tear. great remorse, and hunger pains gripping their stomachs they killed the child of family number one. They all laid down in great despair, but nourished for that evening.

Day two arrived and they prepared to get wood, water and fire for the evening meal. Mother number two looking at her child decides, wait a minute I can’t do lt;his to my baby. You can imagine the turmoil that ensued after that.

I bet that each one of the families in that story had emergency water and food prepared just in case they needed it. Water and food for emergency situation is critical. This current economic and political environment demands it. The people in the above story had years of plenty. Plenty water and food. They never thought a disaster would occur that would demand such a sacrifice, but it did. They found themselves in an emergency situation.

China and other developing nations are hungry for more meat and grains. There is an insatiable appetite and desire for foods that we have enjoyed for many years. We here in America are use to cheap food and water. The developing countries are willing to pay premium prices for water and food. There is a worldwide demand for these foods and diminishing supply. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and they are willing to pay more. We now have producers that are shorting us by making the package look the same but the ounces are less. Look at you quart, former quart of orange juice. How about the quart of ice cream. Whoops almost quart of ice cream.

47 millinon people are on food stamps. Up some 37% from last year. How long do you  

think that this will continue? Many states are broke and out of money.

I am telling myself first, and all of you that have taken the time to read this blog post to prepare. You can”t expect the government to do what each of us should be doing for ourselves. Look at the East Coast. Disaster struck in the form of a snow storm. 3 millions plus people where without electricity and many of them for weeks. The stores in many locations ran out of food and water. Imagine Manhattan. How long do you think it would take for the stores to run out of these primary essentials? Food, water, candles, gas, batteries and medical supplies.

How is the Occupy Wall Street related protests different from the Tea Party movement? In an October 19, 2011 article by Matt Kibbe at Forbes.com tells us a glaring difference between the two.

“The Sept. 12, 2009 Tea Party demonstration in Washington, D.C., is a perfect example of the way Tea Par-tiers do business. Organizers planned for 100,000 Tea Party activists… but more [1,000,000 people] turned out in spite of the huge group of people, there was never an “thank you.” No one was arrested and no property was damaged. No one told us to, but we picked up every bit of trash, even if it was not ours. In only a month of much smaller Occupy-related protests, hundreds of people have been arrested from New York City to San Diego and aboard, and in some cases protestors have resorted to physical violence. The property damage has been significant.”

Ben Howe’s article of November 3rd, at RedState.com states

“So, it appears that all of our hopes have been dashed. From threatening to stab reporters in the neck, to blatant anti-[S]emitism, to very odd group chanting, Occupy Wall Street appears more and more to be devoid of ideological passion I’d hoped they’d have, and leans more towards the childish, tantrum throwing, entitlement expecting rioters that we had become familiar with through the protests in Europe these last few years.”

The people, i.e. banker, institutional investors are looting at the top of the social pyramid and those on the bottom are becoming increasingly more agitated and violent. A national crime wave is happening on the streets of this great nation. Home invasions has increased across the country. People are fearing for their lives.

We can’t trust the police to protect us. In a Supreme Court ruling in 2005 Castle Rock v Gonzales, the ruling declared that no police officer is legally obligated to defend you or protect you from anyone that threatens you.

Criminals have become brazen and society is breaking down. What are you doing to protect yourself and loved ones? Will you do as shop owners did in Manhattan and stand in front of your home with a shotgun to defend yourself from home invaders or attackers. We can’t run away from trouble we must meet it head on!

I am not making a political statement for a particular party or government. There are plenty who do that. I am writing to you on a more personal level. I am more concerned about where you are. Where the rubber meets the road.

State and local municipalities are having to cut back on police and fire personnel. I won’t tell you that you must booby trap your homes. Only you can decide that. I am telling you that the responsibility for your own safe guards are becoming increasingly your own.

Irene is just one of the many disasters that our country has faced over the past month. The hurricane and the rain fall, thereafter left over 800,000 without electricity. There were a few towns without water and food. More rain is expected on the east coast. Fema, State, and local government agencies have evacuated over 100,000 people from their homes.

The east coast is not the only place that has been affected. Texas is on fire . The forest fires have destroyed an area the size of New Hampshire. 1000 homes were destroyed and four dead.

Everyone is wondering what’s next? There is a new movie out called ‘Contagion’. The movie is about a pandemic that spreads around the globe. The World Health Organization is concerned that this can and will occur within the next 5 to 10 years.

The dangerous spread of E. Coli. (Christine Gorman, “E. Coli on the March”, Scientific American, August 2011) “This spring a recently identified strain of E. Coli. 0104:h4, killed dozens of people in Europe and landed hundreds more in the hospital.”

Many are wondering will the world end in 2012. I don’t believe that the world will end. I believe that we will live through a very difficult time and that the world will go through a depression and many will die. Can this be averted? No, but you and I can be prepared. Store food, medicine, security items, and water filtration systems. These are just a few things that we should be working on.

If you were evacuated from your home would you be able to carry enough food for your family. I know of a couple who did a great job of preparing, but if they had to leave in a hurry they would not be able to carry enough food to last 6 months to a year. Most of their food storage are heavy can goods. Please make sure that you have some freeze dried foods in your emergency water and food storage plan.

I just finished a book by Michael Drosnin. Mr Drosnin is a reporter who worked for the Washington post and the Wall Street Journal. He was the first to write on the Bible code. The “Bible Code III” is the book I read recently. In it he states that the terrorist already have a nuclear weapon and that the economy will go through a depression in 2012. I don’t know if this is true but it does cause me to stop, and ponder. We need to be PREPARED! I like to suggest that everyone read this book.

There was a man who was king of the Babylonians. He had a great kingdom that spread across all the known world. The king would send his soldiers out to defeat other nations and they would pillage all of the gold, silver, iron, brass and wood relics from their temples.

This king decided that he would have a party and invited all the nobles to the celebration. People were eating and drinking having a great time. The king call his servants and told them to bring the chalices from the last campaign.

He had wine poured into the chalices and offered up a toast to the god’s of gold, silver, iron, brass and wood. The word Babylonian means those who worshiped many god’s. The king barely lowered his chalice when he notice writing on the wall. The writing was being done by a hand that was invisible except for the fingers.

The king let out a scream and the crowd wondered in amazement at what they heard. The king called for all of his wise men and soothsayers. He declared unto them that whoever could decipher the meaning of the writing on the wall would be given a purple robe and a gold chain to be put about their neck.

None of the king’s men could tell him the meaning of the writing on the wall. The king became irate and very disturbed at his wise men. Suddenly the queen entered the ball room and stated that there was a man that could tell him what the writing on the wall meant.

The king called for the man and he came. These are the words that were written on the wall. ‘MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation given by the man. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

The king’s name was Belshazzar and the diviner’s name was Daniel. The chalices were from the temple in Jerusalem.

That very night Belshazzar, king of the Chaldeans, was slain. And Darius the Mede received his kingdom.

I hear everyday people say this is the United States of America and nothing or know one can ever take us down. We will never have the problems of food shortages or lack of water. They declare we will never have an emergency or disaster that will bring us to our knees. It’s as if they can see or understand the writing that is on the wall.

THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL for this great nation. Our money supply is being devastated by Congress and the Federal Reserve. Our water supplies are being poison by the industrial machines. Food shortages are just around the corner.

We must wake up and begin to PREPARE for the inevitable. I would like for you to go to the top of the page and click on store. You may get some Ideas from the products that we have listed. It was Britain’s “Winter of Discontent”, when the government put a freeze on wages. The Brits where striking everywhere. Grave diggers, trash collectors… even hospital workers. Things were really bad, at one point many hospitals only accepted emergency patients.

Inflation in Britain skyrocketed to 26.9% in a single year. The British government imposed a 3 day work week. In short, businesses were limited to using electricity for only 3 consecutive days each week, and they were prohibited from working longer hours on those days. The extreme problems in the economy led to Britain being nicknamed “the sick man of Europe.”

John Blackburn, from Wetherby said:
“I was a control engineer at Huddersfield Power Station at the time and part of my duty was to switch off the supply to various substations around the town, according to an official rota.

On many an evening shift I would have to SWITCH OFF the power to MY OWN HOME before going back for a candle-lit supper!”

Richard Evans, from London, recalls:
“My mother had to cross a picket line to get into the maternity hospital (they told her she couldn’t come in…). My Grandmother had to bring in food for her to eat, and clean towels and bedding.”

David Stoker, Guildford, said:
I lived in the North East near Newcastle and I vividly remember my grandmother and I walking from one shop to another in search of candles to buy. All were SOLD OUT.

Innovatively, butchers placed string down cartons of drippings which we bought… These worked although the smell and risk of fire made them less practical than candles.”

You may think that this occurred in the 1890′s but NO! ALL OF THIS OCCURRED IN THE LATE 1970′S!

Imagine… Britain was a global superpower for 150 years, but when they started intentionally devaluing their currency, things went straight down hill.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BRITISH CURRENCY IS NOW HAPPENING TO THE U.S. DOLLAR.
